When did you first realize you wanted to be a writer?

I’d always had a passing desire to write with tales constantly swirling in my mind, but it wasn’t until I began to put one down “on paper” (on Google docs, to be precise) that I realized how much I loved creating stories.

Exceptional took me 10 months to write and edit.

What is your work schedule like when you're writing?

I work another full-time job and have three small children, so I write when I can, but it’s always during the evenings and on weekends.

I’ve always loved astronomy and reading articles on the universe is what inspired me.

When I’m not writing I like to paint, craft, create stained glass art, spend time with my children and husband, and read.

What was one of the most surprising things you learned in creating your book?

That it wasn’t a work I completed chronologically. I made an outline and jumped around from there.

Do you have any suggestions to help someone become a better writer? If so, what are they?

Vocabulary was always my strength and I believe that has helped me greatly. The more you read and the more you experience, the better a writer you’ll become.
